More stuff done...

So I got the drywall up in Cindy's living room, and we've been hanging out as well!  We even got the lattice done for her grapes so she can support them.  And best of all, the weather seems to look good for the next couple of days, so I think I'll have great traveling weather.  Thank you, God!  This has been a great trip, and I'm sad that my time is almost up, but I know it will be wonderful to see Hans, Josh and Cody again.  And Bethany will be home soon, as well!  Maybe someday Cindy will move in with us.  All that room for the dogs, lots of area to help me garden...  wink, wink!

My visit with Cindy...

I've been enjoying my time with Cindy, although it's been a bit...  ODD this time. Well, more than usual. I spent a few hours with her at the Dr's for kidney stones and a small back surgery.  And we've been working on projects around the house while still having a good time. We even went to the mall one day; yay shopping!
This is one of the projects we worked on - front steps. Here are the before and after pics. We can't believe how quickly the time flies; only a week left now. Although it breaks my heart knowing that Hans misses me - I don't want him to feel bad.
Overall it's been a great trip, and I hope I can get everything done that is really important.  Love to all!
BTW, the steps weren't the only fix. I added on an addition to the gate - now it can close at the top of the stairs AND to the right of the door.

Almost Christmas!

Cody and I got Bethany and Hans off to Texarkana safely, and they are having a nice time!  Josh rode down with us to North Carolina, and we stopped in Stafford to drop him off at his grandparents.  Obachan has time off through Christmas, and they should be spending time together, along with Aunt Michelle and his cousins.  And he's looking forward to a delicious Suki Yaki dinner for "New Year's" eve (which they'll celebrate a little early).  So Cody and I finished our trip to NC Friday morning, making a brief stop at Hinnant Winery on the way down.  We've really just relaxed so far and enjoyed ourselves (doing a little Christmas work along the way).  I'm relieved and blessed to know that all the kids are safely visiting family, and that we made it to Cindy's safely.  We are having a wonderful time with her, and hanging out together.

Our love and prayers are constantly with the families in Newtown, CT, who are suffering this season with such an unimaginable loss.  May God watch over them and everyone affected by this and all tragedies.

Love to all...

Hallway painted...

We're not painting her roses red, but her hallway looks wonderful! I finished this last night, but it was kinda late, so it didn't get posted.
It's really lovely - and this afternoon we ran errands, shopped at Lowe's, had an early dinner at Carrabas, and then I installed new shelves in Cindy's office. Yea! They are STURDY so no falling.
I'm sure it's obvious I've accomplished alot while here... So why can't I get crap done at home? Hmmm... I know I can procrastinate, but perhaps it's the deadlines that are motivating me. Or perhaps the sheer scope of her projects seems more manageable. Something to think upon!...
Love to all.

Painting!

Got another project crossed off Cindy's "honey-do" list, including the lawn today! Painting ceilings, and this is the first wall done.
Miss you Hans, Bethany, Josh and Cody!

Made it to NC!

Arrived a lot later than expected, due to No. VA and Fredericksburg traffic. You'd think after a quarter century they could have fixed Route 1. While lengthening my trip by over 3 hours, I had plenty of un-nice things to say!
However, I'm SO happy to be back with Cindy! I'm working on the honey-do list, and trying to get into a workout/work mode. I think its hard when the kids are out of school - at least for me. Or maybe thats an excuse!  ; )

Either way I'm getting myself together, and having fun doing it. I miss the kids - Boo had just come home, so we didn't get to see much of each other. I hope they're doing well.

Oh yeah - to solve the debate as to where we were shopping, no Hans, it was not Lowes.  It was Cracker Barrel in the background!

Love to all...
